HOCHTIEF Concessions AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of HOCHTIEF Aktiengesellschaft and one of the world's most important industrial infrastructure investors, develops and realizes concessions and operator projects. The company has long years of experience in the planning, financing and operation of infrastructure facilities. HOCHTIEF Concessions' business fields include airports, roads, social infrastructure and other public-private partnership (PPP) projects. The company's portfolio currently comprises six airport shareholdings, seven roads, 104 schools, two city halls, a community center and a military base. In addition, it is developing two geothermal power plants and is in two investment partnerships.
HOCHTIEF Concessions was founded in 2008 and converted into a joint-stock company in November 2009. The company draws on the lengthy experience in the public-private partnership sector of its two subsidiaries, HOCHTIEF AirPort GmbH (HTA) and HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions GmbH (HTPPPS).
As a wholly owned subsidiary of HOCHTIEF Concessions AG, HOCHTIEF AirPort is responsible for the company's airports business. HTA bundles all the airport management activities of the HOCHTIEF Group and offers a full spectrum of services from a single source – from financing and management to an airport's strategic alignment. Its attractive and balanced airport network – with shareholdings in the airports of Athens, Budapest, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Sydney and Tirana – handles around 90 million passengers a year. Under the umbrella of HOCHTIEF Concessions, HTA is one of the world's leading private and independent airport investors and managers.
HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of HOCHTIEF Concessions, offers its public-sector partners integrated, intelligent and innovative solutions for PPP projects in the business fields of roads and social infrastructure. In 2007, the company also became engaged in the field of renewable energies. Based in Essen, HTPPPS has business units and offices in Chile, Greece, the United Kingdom, Canada and the US. Via HTPPPS, HOCHTIEF Concessions is at present involved in 28 PPP projects, with an aggregate investment volume of well over EUR 6 billion. These include 21 social infrastructure projects and seven transportation infrastructure projects.
